What is Kodi?

Nevermind, I Googled it.

What is Kodi?

Kodi (Formerly known as XBMC) is a free, open source, software media center. Kodi allows you to play TV, Movies, view pictures and more on various devices. Normally, users install Kodi on a supported device or computer connected to a television. The user configures Kodi by setting up the location of various video sources.Kodi also accesses content over the internet using various “add-ons” created by members of the Kodi open source community. Therefore, add-ons do not come “out of the box” with any official version of Kodi.Whether it’s your personal video library or other user-created add-ons, Kodi brings all these sources together in one media center for users to enjoy.Furthermore, Kodi reads the meta-data associated with video files so it will display box covers, descriptions, and any other information associated with the video file. In essence, Kodi is a software-based media jukebox that you hook to your television.

That would be 'thanks to blatant theft of copyrighted materials', not Kodi.
It's like mugging a guy with a crowbar and then thanking Stanley tools for the money.

When I was young we used to have free movies on something called a television.  We'd have our sibling change the channel by hand and hold the antenna just right...and we liked it.

Except Stanley Tools doesn't make crowbars, per se...though on their site they sure make a lot of items that look like a crowbar but they call it something else.

From Wiki for the bored:The accepted etymology[l=[2]]https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crowbar_%28tool%29#cite_note-2[/l][l=[3]]https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crowbar_%28tool%29#cite_note-3[/l] identifies the first component of the word crowbar with the bird-name "crow", perhaps due to the crowbar's resemblance to the feet or beak of a crow. The first attestation of the word is circa 1400.[l=[4]]https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crowbar_%28tool%29#cite_note-4[/l] They also were called simply crows, or iron crows; William Shakespeare used the term iron crow in many places,[l=[5]]https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crowbar_%28tool%29#cite_note-5[/l] including his play Romeo and Juliet, Act 5, Scene 2: "Get me an iron crow and bring it straight unto my cell."In Daniel Defoe's 1719 novel Robinson Crusoe, the protagonist uses crowbars as pickaxes but refers to these tools as iron crows: "As for the pickaxe, I made use of the iron crows, which were proper enough, though heavy."
